Seattle’s Gem for Tex-Mex

Jackalope TexMex & Cantina, Seattle

Seattle is the last major city in the contiguous United States so it’s no surprise that our Tex-Mex / Mexican food wouldn’t be as good. After 10 years of being here, I can say, it’s true….

For most of us, when we have a hankering for Mexican food (which I do almost every other day), we just hit up a local food truck or head down to Cactus. That was until I visited Jackalope! Now you’ll see me there 1-2x a week.

The food is SOOO GOOOOOD! First, they provide properly seasoned chips and warm salsa. It’s not hard to go through a few baskets and bowls of each.

For a main dish, I primarily order the LARGE chicken tacos. I would always add shrimp but I found that that portions of chicken/shrimp weren’t enough so now I just go with chicken and you get a ton of protein.

Big tip: ask for a side of their special seasoning and add it to your dish and if you get tacos/fajitas, each and every taco. You’ll thank me for this!

The bar is stocked with tons of great tequila! Try a skinny margarita if you’re reducing your sugar intake, it’s tasty.
